Bonjour Paris!
I have been to Paris twice and I still feel like it wasn’t enough time. Paris is my favorite European City. I went for a day from London my junior year of college and went back in May of 2019. There is something about Paris that always pulls me back – I don’t know if it’s the food, the culture or the sites. This city is so beautiful and I just can’t seem to get enough. I want to point out that Paris is a lot bigger than it seems and getting from one point to the next is usually easiest by taxi. Here is how I enjoyed my two short days here! I hope you enjoy!
Paris Day 1
–Le Barav – We started our day off here getting a cheese board and bottle of wine as this was very close to our airbnb. We got to go into their wine volt and pick whatever wine we wanted. Everything was very good but the menu was in French. Lucky for me, my friend speaks a bit of french so we had no problem!
–The Louvre – There was a bit of a line but we got in quickly to view the museum.
–Le Marais – This is a street full of every type of food shop you can imagine (wine shop, bread shop, cheese shop, meat shop, etc.) We went into several of these shops to buy fresh meats and cheeses to bring with us for a picnic at the Eiffel Tower
–Arch de Triomphe – We went here right as the sun was starting to set and it was gorgeous. You get an amazing view of the city and the Eiffel Tower from afar. Also, make sure you don’t make the mistake of running into traffic to get across the street as we did!
–Moulin Rouge – We didn’t go inside but we walked down the street to see it. There are several shows here if this is something that interests you. This area is really cool there are several bars and restaurants surrounding the Moulin rouge if going in for a show is something that you don’t want to do
–Pink Mama – To cap off the night we came here for dinner but they were fully reserved (we came back the next day as soon as they opened to get seating). We found a speakeasy bar downstairs and it had by far some of the best drinks I’ve ever had. I definitely recommend checking this spot out for the food or drinks, it won’t disappoint.
–Boullion Pigalle – We were recommended by a local to eat dinner here as we were unable to get a table at Pink Mama. We all tried escargot and got steak and all I have to say is, wow. This food was really good and it was a really fun vibe here! They cram you in here but we loved it!

Paris Day 2
–Breizh Cafe – We woke up early and went straight to this cafe for some amazing crepes! We all got savory crepes that had ham, cheese and an egg in them and they were sooo good!
–Eiffel Tower – How could one ever come to Paris and not see the Eiffel Tower several times. We walked across the street near the carrousel and up the stairs to take a bunch of pictures! This is a cool spot because you can keep going up each set of stairs to take different types of pictures. After we went back and climbed up two stories of the Eiffel Tower. This was so much fun! You can take an elevator all the way to the top but the wait is usually really long unless you buy tickets in advance, so we only climbed it and I thought that was just as good!
–Notre Dame – Unfortunately the Notre Dame was under major construction after the fire but I had been able to see it and go inside back when I came to Paris the first time. It is so beautiful and a must see.
–Shakespeare and Company – This is a really cool book store. It’s right near the Notre Dame so why not stop in?
–Lock Bridge – Unfortunately this also isn’t what it used to be. When I had first visited Paris the bridge was full of locks with names and once you attach your lock you throw the key into the river. They remove the locks now but we still put one on anyways!
–Champs Elyse – This street is full of luxurious shopping! This is very close to the Arch de Triomphe so I would suggest doing these two together!
–Pink Mama – Yes, we came back again for dinner. It is so beautiful inside this restaurant. Each floor is decorated differently and the food was outstanding.
–Picnic at the Eiffel Tower – This was by far the best way to end my trip. We brought all the fresh food we bought and sat out here until 3AM. We met locals who sat with us and it was one of my favorite travel memories. If you forget to bring wine don’t worry, there are plenty of people selling wine for very cheap in this area.
